Professional cleansing

Professional cleansing is the simplest procedure done in a dental practice, completely painless, done in 3 stages:

1. Scaling

Scaling is one of the most efficient dental procedures of removal of bacteria and plaque. Plaque is a block that forms by mineralizing the bacterial formations in time (the small film that can form on dental surfaces and which is not removed with non-optimal brushing or lack of brushing) with calcium from the saliva.

Deposits of plaque on dental surfaces can lead to inflammation of gums (gingivitis), which can manifest itself as an increase in size, a reddening and/or apparition of other colors of the gums, as well as bleeding. If the plaque is not removed as soon as possible and remains on the teeth for longer periods, especially under the gums, then not only gums can suffer, but bone too. To prevent this, the gum will retreat, which can lead to dental mobility (teeth lose grip in roots). This causes teeth to move increasingly and eventually fall off. This has the name of parodontal disease and is one of the most disastrous effects of plaque.

Scaling has the purpose of cleaning the oral cavity and preventing gum disease. Warning: the ultra-sound tools do not affect enamel of teeth, they act only on soft deposits on top of the teeth, so scaling does not affect teeth.

Ultrasonic scaling is done with the help of a special tools which sends out ultrasonic vibrations out of it’s tip. This tip is used around teeth which present plaque, thus removing the blocks of unwanted plaque. The residues that are spawned out of eliminating plaque are then removed with high pressured water on the tooth.

2. Professional cleansing

This is a preventative measure that is done in a dental practice by a dental hygienist. This measure has the purpose of supplementing other methods of dental hygiene and give the tooth a very clean aspect.

It is done with a professional tooth brush mounted on a special device, and they are often used with professional abrasive toothpaste which contains fluorine.

You can apply the toothbrush on all surfaces of the tooth without causing pain.

3. Prophy-jet (Air-flow)

This is a method done additionally to the scaling per-se, and, alongside professional cleansing, the 3 procedures will guarantee a complete hygiene of the mouth. Airflowing is a dental method which is done with the help of a tool that projects cocktails of specially created particles designed to cleanse, water, and air.

It’s purpose is cleaning of teeth, helping in removing the plaque and other spots, also while performing a gentle gum massage which stimulates local bloodflow.

This procedure is necessary before the mounting of orthodontic devices, dental jewelry, whitening, as well as to patients which smoke or drink colored liquids. |

It’s recommended to perform a scaling once every 6 months, and once every 4 months for patients with implants.

Painless, without creating prolonged sensitivity, our devices guarantee comfort.
